Mark Pain

 "Mark Pain is a multi-award winning sports photographer with over 25 years experience and international recognition. Covering major events worldwide from the Olympic Games to the Ryder Cup, and from football and rugby World Cups to World Championship athletics, Mark has worked at the top of his profession for many years.
He captures Premier League football action for the Mail On Sunday every week, as well as taking portraits and features of the biggest and best stars in the world of sport. Mark's portfolio is not limited to sport however and other aspects of his work vary from property to food photography.
Working for both editorial and corporate clients and is the Chief Sports Photographer of The Mail On Sunday. Having won many competitions and been highly commended on numerous occasions, including as a sports finalist in the World Press Photo 1998, Mark was named as the Sports Photographer of the Year in 2005 and 2011 at the British Press Awards.
He was named as the British Airways Olympic Photographer Of The Year 2012 at the prestigious UK Guild Of Picture Editors Awards
In 2011 Mark successfully launched the first dedicated Sports Photography School in the UK, and in 2013 became a Nikon Ambassador."


Martin Pain is a extremely talented photographer when taking sport photographs, this is because he uses a fast shutter speed this is when the shutter on the camera quickly opens and closes, this is good for capturing motion in photographs and also making it clear.



Photograph Analysis:

Photographic Category - The category of this photograph is sports, sports photography is good for capturing emotions and action that would normally be too fast to see during the sport.


Purpose - The purpose of this photograph is to capture Jessica Ennis winning the race, this would be used online, magazines and newspapers, this is because this would be a big news story in the media because Jessica Ennis is representing the United Kingdom which is a big deal when watching the Olympics.

Image analysis - This is a Landscape photograph which has captured the emotions on the face of the runner who is Jessica Ennis, the emotion on her face which also like the last picture is extremely happy and overwhelmed this connotes that she is proud of what she has achieved. This photograph connotes that Jessica Ennis is running in to victory as she has already risen her arms in the air as a way to celebrate. The techniques the photographer has used to get this really good photograph is, shallow depth of field, this is effective as it blurs out the background which is the crowd, this make the front object which is Jessica Ennis in focus which makes her the main focal point of the photograph. This image also has the rules of thirds, which also makes Jessica Ennis the main focal point as she is central of the photograph which connotes that she is the winner. The photographer has also used low aperture, this makes the photograph clear. I think the shutter speed used to take this photograph is 1/250 this means the the speed of the shutter speed was fast to get a clear photograph of the fast moving objects. Meaning - The meaning of this photograph is to show Jessica Ennis running in to victory as she has her arms up in the air which connotes that she is celebrating winning the sport in comparison to the competitors running behind her which has a determined look on her face which connotes she still wants to win the race. The emotion on Jessica Ennis' faces connotes that she is relieved that the race is over and she has won, she also has a look of pride in her face the connotes that she is pleased to win the race as she is representing her country.

Charlie Waite

"Charlie Waite is firmly established as one of the world’s leading Landscape photographers. His photographic style is often considered to be unique, in that his photographs convey an almost spiritual quality of serenity and calm. Photographic Category - The category of this photograph is landscape photography, landscape photography is good for capture a wide verity of the landscape.

Purpose - The purpose of this photograph is to juxtapose the grey dark colours against the bright green grass. This photograph would be used online this is because many people love to look to see the world from different perspective.

Image analysis - This photograph is a landscape this is good to see a wide area of the field, this is also makes the trees in the centre of the photograph significant as we can see the empty space around them which creates a neglected scene as the trees look powerless compared to the mass land surrounding them. The techniques the photographer has used to get this really good photograph is, deep depth of field, this is effective as it makes the whole photograph in focus which makes every detail stand out. This photograph is taken from eye level, this is to see this scene from a realistic perspective. The photographer has also used low aperture, this makes the photograph in focus. Meaning - The meaning of this photograph could be to show the vulnerability of the bunch of trees standing together in the middle of an empty field, this could also have another meaning as it could connote that standing together makes them strong rather than alone where as they are easy to break, this could refer back to human life as working as a team in life always make the difference. This photograph is also to show the natural beauty of the outdoors which I think many people are interested to see.

Rinko Kawauchi

Rinko Kawauchi is a Japanese contemporary photographer. Her work is characterised by a serene, poetic style and depicting the ordinary moments in life. This photographer takes various types of photography, however she mostly takes Macro photographs these photographs have hidden meanings. There's a Japanese philosophy called Wabi sabi, 'that sees beauty in imperfection and stuff that only has a short life span' this is something that Rinko Kawauchi obviously focus' on as well as it is seen in many of her photographs.












 
Photography Analysis: 

Photographic Category - The category of this photograph is macro photography. This photography is good to capture the details on objects that the human eye can not usually see.

Purpose - The purpose of this photograph is to focus on the details that cannot be usually see, this allows us to see the from a different perspective. This photograph would be used online on nature sites this is because people have different interests and may be interested in macro photography.

Image analysis - This photograph macro this means that this photograph has been take extremely close up however this photograph is no t only focused on the frog as it also has the hand in the shot, this is to allow us to see the size of the frog in comparison to a human hand. This frog is also off centre this makes it  the focal point of photograph. The techniques the photographer has used to get this really good photograph is, shallow depth of field, this is effective as it makes the front objects in the photograph in focus which makes every detail stand out. This photograph is taken from eye level, this is to see this scene from a realistic perspective. The photographer has also used low aperture, this makes the photograph in focus. I think the shutter speed used to take this photograph is 1/125 due to lots of natural lighting, this means the speed of the shutter speed was average to get a clear photograph.

Meaning - The meaning of this photographs to show the details on the frog, this is significance as the frog is extremely small this shows its in its early stages of life which also significant in comparison to a an adult frog which can normally be quite large.
